About us
“In January 2007, my father died from an aggressive brain tumor. During his month-long stay in paliative care at the end of his life, I visited him many times, and always took my violin so I could play for him, and for the other patients as well.
My violin was able to communicate my emotions and messages better than I could with words, and this became my inspiration for Les Porteurs de Musique.
Usually, people have to leave their home in order to go to a concert: that’s where we are different. Les Porteurs de musique takes concerts to people instead.
We play in hospitals, centers for old people, psychiatric institutes, prisons, schools for handicaped children, in fact, everywhere where people would otherwise not have access to live music.
Music has an exceptional power of calming, moving, and entering into the inner world of each person.
In each concert or event, our aim is to create an atmosphere which allows for a communicative interaction between the musicians and our audience.
This can be anything from allowing children to conduct the musicians, having people sing or play percussion instruments, or for prisoners to express their emotions.
We offer concerts of the highest musical quality, whilst maintaining a compassionate human interaction.
With the invaluable feedback we receive from both staff and our various audiences, as well as our on going extensive research, we are able to offer tailer made concerts, which bring out the best in every situation.
